Biography

Born in 1988 on Reunion Island where he grew up, WAROOX discovered art through graffiti, which he started to practice in the early 2000s on the streets of Reunion Island. He then left the island to attend a design and graphics school in Australia, allowing him to emerge under an Anglo-Saxon prism of urban and alternative influences.

After high school, Waroox moved to Paris where he exhibited in renowned places such as the Halle St Pierre museum in Montmartre, the Slow Galerie and the Imagine gallery in Bordeaux. He has also multiplied artistic battles and collaborative charity exhibitions, notably with the Fab “Fondation agnès b.” and the Yann Arthus Bertrand Foundation, to contribute to the world of tomorrow. These last two projects reflect his strong involvement in committed projects, aimed at bringing men and women together around a solidarity component on themes with a social and environmental dimensions.

This succession of events brought him to Dubai, where he expressed himself internationally for the first time through the “Street Art Gallery”, and he then had the honor of carrying out artistic residencies all over Europe, from Florence to Portugal, via Cape Verde. In his artistic research, Waroox works in a wide range of formats: paintings, murals, casts, workshops, performances and auctions. He recently moved his studio to the Basque Country in south-west France, where he draws inspiration from this new environment to create and respond to public, private or individual commissions.
