Born in Galicia, LULA GOCE is a Spanish artist who grew up surrounded by the salty coastal air, beautiful beaches, and centuries-old traditions and legends which deeply inspired her. At the age of 20, she moved to Salamanca, where she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts, specializing in painting. She soon began participating in various art competitions and scholarships, focusing on both ephemeral sculptures and paintings, which were exhibited in public spaces, museums, and galleries worldwide.
Lula’s artistic journey then took her to Barcelona, where she pursued a PhD and a Master's in Artistic Creation at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. She also studied Graphic Design at Pauta Formació and Illustration at Escola de la Dona. In Barcelona, she became deeply involved in the city's vibrant underground Graffiti culture. Lula joined art collectives in creative hubs such as Hangar, Caminal, and La Escocesa in the Poblenou district, where she refined her technique and developed skills in Urban Art.
Lula Goce's work is characterized by her large-scale, realistic murals that directly engage with their environment and the community. Natural motifs and fantastic characters are often
blended into the themes of her work. The artist finds the interaction between her art and the public, the dialogue that unfolds as the piece evolves, both inspiring and essential. Her murals seek to alter and enhance public spaces, becoming integrated into the neighborhoods they inhabit. This
dynamic relationship between art, place, and people drives Lula's ongoing creative exploration in everything she does.
