France - mulhouse
Born in 1990 in Mulhouse, EDOUARD BLUM started drawing at the age of 14 when he had his first encounter with the world of graffiti. First in his notebooks, then on the walls of the wastelands he came across. The form and movement of the letter in his work will then lead him towards a more illustrative practice and to express his feelings at best.
In 2008, the artist started training as an illustrator followed by a degree in visual communication. He has always been nourished by graffiti culture, notably thanks to Bom.K and Blu. In 2009, during a visit to the MuseumQuartier in Vienna, he discovered artworks by Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, which will be a decisive turning point for his artistic expression. Later, Edouard Blum turned to a more intuitive and less anecdotal drawing. The surrealistic characters give way to landscapes and fantastic vegetation.
