Biography

Alexandre Stolypine alias PSYCKOZE is a French artist born in 1969, he is one of the precursors of the graffiti culture in France. He started in the world of graffiti in 1984 at the age of 15, when this culture was very marginal and represented by fifteen people.

He began by tagging 'Acro and then adopted the pseudonym Psychose in 1987 in response to the attacks perpetrated in Paris by Action Directe, which would later become Psyckoze. For fifteen years, he continued his quest for identity in order to gain recognition in the graffiti microcosm by renewing his style. From the palisades of the Louvre to the Bastille to the quays of the Seine, he has been creating graffiti in some of the most surprising places, always seeking to surprise his audience.

For more than 25 years, Psyckoze's work has been anchored in the urban environment, the city being the founding principle of his artistic approach. Whether on walls, palisades or in the catacombs of Paris. Psyckoze also develops in parallel his work in the studio and in the street, which for him are inseparable. His work on canvas stems directly from the codes of graffiti, where tags and drips form abstract or more figurative works.
